(A quick pre-party shot of us, me in my gifted Baukjen gown & the youngsters in gifted Mamas & Papas outfits).
…I like a celebration as well as those who comply with this blog understand we have a great deal of household celebrations which typically include tasty Greek or Italian food (usually supplied by the family’s restaurants), the funniest as well as funnest business you can envision (we actually laugh the whole time), music (always) as well as many of all (and soppiest or all) a whole great deal of huge Fat Greek love!
I should add, the latter is what truly makes these household get-togethers ROCK!
…You understand when you look around as well as think, “We’re all loud, rubbish at listening, excellent at dancing as well as a bit bit crazy (myself included) however we like each other madly”-that’s my family.
We’re such a close, strong unit, always there for every other in the great times as well as the poor as well as I realise we’re truly lucky to have one another!
….And no much more so than last night for a household celebration for my Auntie Mary’s 60th which she held at my Auntie Loulla’s fantastic as well as well-known Greek restaurant in Manchester, Kosmos Taverna.
Loulla has featured on TV cooking Greek food as well as was even invited to satisfy the Queen at the palace for a hospitality event for chefs (with Gordon Ramsey as well as others no less) not long back as well as she sure understands exactly how to rustle up a feast!
Course after program of sumptuous Greek dishes: arrays of dips, dolmathes, calamari, five different youngsters of salad, mixed grilled kebabs, cracked wheat as well as rice complied with by fresh figs, Greek desserts (sweet ricotta pastries) as well as great deals of dancing!
The youngsters stayed up late (we go into Mediterranean parenting mode at household events as well as thankfully my eldest doesn’t begin institution up until Thursday) as well as even my mum with her damaged foot Greek danced with only her walking frame supporting her. told you we’re unstoppable when we party!
…We liked as well as laughed at Aunty Mary’s tipsy speech as well as her cracking dance moves to the online bouzouki player (especially when my father chose to serenade the party) as well as she was the ideal hold chatting away to everybody as well as making sure we were pleased (which all of us were of course)!
…My Auntie Zak flew in from Marbella where she lives as well as being my youngest child Alexander’s godmother implied she got some valuable time with my curly haired young boy as well as we got to have a huge girly catch up together with my preferred cousin Georgia (don’t tell the others) as well as Auntie Angelou!
My sibling likewise introduced his beautiful sweetheart Lucy (or Juicy as Alexander phone calls her-ha) to all the household last night as well as she got to see him working some Greek dancing moves on the dance floor as well (go Solly)!
(Georgia, Solos, me as well as Lucy)
…It was likewise lovable seeing Oliver catch up with his bit cousins as well as do some Greek dancing of their own (the next generation is broadening all the time)… as well as as we rolled house full of food as well as merriment, all of us agreed it was rather just one of the very best nights we’ve had in a long time!
